Scott Dahle, CSP

Vice President - Environmental, Health & Safety   Scott is a Certified Safety Professional and joined GBI in 2014 as Environmental Health and Safety Director and was promoted to Vice President in 2021.  Prior to joining GBI, Scott spent 7 years with CH2M Hill as regional Construction Safety Director, provided safety consulting services and most recently was corporate safety director for a division of Westinghouse.  He started his career with Nucor Steel as industrial hygienist after earning a BS in Industrial Hygiene and Safety from Utah State University in 1996. Most nights and weekends you will find Scott coaching locally or cheering on one of his three D-1 collegiate athletes.

Sam Coleman

QA/QC Director    Sam joined GBI in 2011 as a fabrication welder and was promoted to shop QA/QC manager in 2012. He was later promoted to GBI company QA/QC Director in early 2022.  Prior to joining GBI, Sam worked as a structural steel welder while earning a degree in Welding Engineering from Weber State University.  Sam spends his free time hunting, snowmobiling and keeping his collection of vintage cars on the road.

Dan Clegg

Chief Executive Officer    Dan joined GBI in 2008 as President, CEO and co-owner.  He began his career in the industry in 1988, and has worked in a variety of positions including welder, field engineer, project engineer and sales manager.  His project management experience includes several large shutdowns at coal-fired power plants, large mining projects and several high-nickel alloy lining projects and scrubbers.  Dan earned a BS degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Brigham Young University. Dan's zen is found working in the wide open spaces of Grace, Idaho with his kids and grandkids at the family ranch.

J.D. Oldham  

President & Chairman    J.D. joined GBI in 2009 as CFO, Chairman and co-owner, and was promoted to President in 2021.  He started his career in 1992 with GE Capital in their FMP program after graduating magna cum laude with a BS in Finance from the University of Utah.  He later earned an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania before joining DLJ and later Credit Suisse as a Vice President of investment banking.  Prior to joining GBI, J.D. provided strategic, operational and financial consulting services to companies in the service and manufacturing sectors. In his free time J.D. enjoys hiking, water and snow skiing with his family, community service and watching Premier League football. 

Brock Payton

Chief Operating Officer  Brock joined GBI in 2011 as a Project Manager and Coatings Division Manager, where he quickly proved himself while managing many of the company's largest and most successful projects. Brock was promoted to Vice President in 2019, Senior Vice President in 2021 and COO in 2024. Prior to joining GBI, Brock was an Area Manager for Dunkin & Bush.  Brock grew up working for a family construction business and graduated with a Construction Management degree from Weber State. Most nights and weekends you will find Brock coaching, hunting or fishing with his 5 kids.

Craig Lundskog

Chief Financial Officer    Craig joined GBI in 2014 as Finance Manager and was promoted to CFO in 2021.  Craig graduated with a BS in Accounting from the University of Utah before starting his career with a multi-national company, and later worked managing the finances of large multi-billion dollar auto dealers. Prior to joining GBI, Craig was CFO for a structural steel fabricator and erector. Craig has a passion for building teams and people. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, camping, hiking, biking, traveling, playing games, gardening, serving others, scuba diving and laughing.

Marjory Howes

Vice President - People    Marjory joined the Great Basin Nation in 2012 as a Project Manager’s Assistant. She quickly realized she could have an impact working in Human Resources and worked her way to HR Coordinator, HR Manager and eventually to VP of the People Team.  She is a SHRM certified professional and holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media from Southern Utah University and HR Certificate from University of Utah.  Marjory is passionate about wellness and loves to help employees build their best future. She is an avid volleyball player and enjoys any sport her family will participate in with her.

Scott Kent

Vice President - Business Development    Scott (Cub) co-founded GBI in 2007.  Since 1985 Scott has worked in the industry in a variety of positions to erect tanks, silos, thickeners, precipitators, SDA scrubbers, stacks and on high-nickel alloy lining projects.  Scott holds contractor licenses in multiple states.  His project management and superintendent experience spans industries including oil, mining, petrochemical, power, utilities, sand and gravel. Cub loves country music, motorized equipment, camping and enjoying time in the outdoors with his family and friends.

Jesse Memmott

Vice President - Business Development    Jesse joined GBI in 2008 as a co-owner, providing project management, sales and estimating expertise.  Prior to joining GBI Jesse worked in the petroleum, refining and midstream industries as a welder, fitter, lead man, foreman and area supervisor.  He holds welding certifications in several alloys and processes, plate and pipe.  Jesse earned an associates degree in welding technology from Utah Valley University and is a former welding instructor at Salt Lake Community College. Jesse enjoys hunting and the outdoors with his family, and is active in the wrestling and jui-jitsu community.

Jeff Reading

Vice President - Tank Construction    Jeff joined GBI in 2014 as a Tank Project Manager and was later promoted to Construction Manager and ultimately Vice President, Tank Construction in 2019.  He responsibilities include all aspects of Tank project mobilization and construction.  Jeff started his career in 1980 in the steel industry that included 10 years at Geneva Steel as a Welder/Iron Worker and 24 years at a tank and plate fabricator as a welder, construction warehouse manager and Project Manager.  Jeff has hunted and fished just about anything there is, and enjoys spending weekends at his remote family cabin in the mountains.
